"Trendy" Email Marketing Tactics

05/11/25 | The Rehm Copy Newsletter

It happens all the time...

You see a new app or plug-in that can add some new fancy thing to your back end email marketing.

One example was the 'spin-the-wheel' opt in form where people try to get the biggest discount possible.

This is just one case of the trendy things that pop up in this wide world of marketing and advertising.

And truth is...

Those things can work.

But to actually see continued success, you need everything to work from cold hard principles.

Not trendy tactics.

For example, the guys who WIN in real estate are the ones who are committed to the long game.

Same thing in the stock market.

The guy who's always day trading loses big 95% of the time while the long term trader that acts based on principles wins no matter what.

It's the same way in marketing.

Let's go back to the spin the wheel opt in.

That could get a ton of people to opt in to your email list.

Because it's fun and it's interesting.

But those people might just be window shoppers who only did that to get the biggest discount possible.

One of the biggest issues for ecom brands specifically is list quality.

If you want a super engaged list filled with buyers, your opt-in should be simple and to the point.

It will attract the right people who are actually serious about whatever it is that you sell.

And the opt in is just one example...

But there are certain marketing principles that you should always keep in mind throughout everything that you do.

And by staying true to those...

You win in the long term.

05/07/25 | The Rehm Copy Newsletter Happy Wednesday! I'll typically go more in-depth and more personal here on this newsletter than I will anywhere else, so there's something I'd love to get your feedback on as a business owner yourself... As you know, our specialty is email & SMS marketing. Or, more specifically, retaining customers long term and maximizing revenue from that channel. But we noticed a while back that most agencies/in-house teams only do half the job when it comes to email &...

04/28/25 | The Rehm Copy Newsletter If you're reading this, you likely have a business and within that business, you own an email list. This is a list of people that engage your business or have even bought from you. I want you to think of this email list like your house. In order for someone to join your list, they need to have opted in. You posted an opt-in form, or some lead magnet/offer, and that was your invite, giving people an opportunity to come into your house (AKA your email list)....
